Ordinances & Resolutions
Municipal Ordinances and Resolutions are official written actions taken by a municipal governing body; however, they differ in their nature, purpose, and authority.
What is an Ordinance?
Ordinances are local laws enacted by the City Council similar to statutes that are enacted by the state legislature. Ordinances are codified into the Battle Ground Municipal Code and have the force of law within the City's jurisdictional boundaries.
What is a Resolution?
Resolutions are formal expressions of the opinion, will, or intent of the City Council to address special or temporary matters.
The City makes approved Resolutions available for online viewing. If you are seeking a Resolution not listed here, please contact the City Clerk's Office.
